Pakistan PM Nawaz Sharif meets Ban Ki- Moon, raises Kashmir issue

New York, Sept 28 (IBNS) Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has met UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon and raised the Kashmir issue with him.

Sharif met Moon on the sidelines of the  70th UNGA Session in New York  on Sunday.

"The Prime Minister raised the issue of ceasefire violations on the LoC and Working Boundary as well as human rights atrocities in Indian occupied Jammu & Kashmir. The Prime Minister called for the implementation of UN Security Council resolutions on Jammu & Kashmir. He also called for the strengthening of United Nations Military Observer Group for India and Pakistan (UNMOGIP)," Pakistan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.

"The Secretary General expressed serious concerns over the tensions between Pakistan and India. He called for a dialogue between Pakistan and India and offered his good offices to help reduce the tensions," it said.
