Pakistan: PMO’s YouTube channel renamed to ‘Imran Khan’
Islamabad: As the Pakistan National Assembly was set to vote on a no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Imran Khan, the YouTube channel of the Prime Minister's office was renamed to "Imran Khan", Geo News reported on Friday.
The name change raises eyebrows as it was done on the first day of Pakistan's National Assembly which has been convened to take up the no-confidence motion against PM Khan.
The Opposition, on March 8, had submitted a no-confidence motion against PM Imran Khan in Parliament.
The channel, which has speeches of Khan since he became the PM, now doesn't carry the verified tick after the name change.
General Manager of the Digital Media Wing of the Government of Pakistan, Imran Ghazali, on being asked about the changes said that the wing "only manages" the Twitter and Facebook accounts of the Prime Minister's office, reports Geo News.
The channel has over 1,50,000 subscribers and was created in 2019, a year after Imran Khan assumed office.
