SC verdict should be implemented in ‘letter and spirit’: Pakistan AG

| @indiablooms | Apr 10, 2022, at 02:00 am

Islamabad/UNI: Attorney General for Pakistan (AGP) Khalid Jawed Khan has voiced his opinion regarding the current political crisis in the country.

He said that the Supreme Court's ruling directing the National Assembly speaker to hold the voting on-confidence motion against PM Imran Khan should be implemented in letter and spirit.

The AGP stressed that all concerned parties have the right to contest their claims in court but once the judgment has been passed it has to be implemented in letter and spirit.

In a unanimous ruling, Pakistan's Supreme Court had on Thursday set aside National Assembly Deputy Speaker Qasim Suri's ruling to dismiss the no-trust resolution against PM Imran.

The assembly was subsequently dissolved by President Arif Alvi on the Prime Minister's advice.
