At least two terrorists were killed during an exchange with security forces in  Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa region on Sunday.

A press release from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said that a fire exchange took place between terrorists and security forces on Sunday night, reported Dawn News.

“Own troops effectively engaged the terrorists’ location as a result of which two terrorists were sent to hell. Weapons and explosives were also recovered from them,” it said.

Weapons and explosives were reportedly recovered from them.

“Sanitisation operation is being conducted to eliminate any other terrorist found in the area as the security forces of Pakistan are determined to wipe out the menace of terrorism from the country,” it said.

Pakistan has witnessed an uptick in terror activities in recent times ever since the banned militant Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan ended its ceasefire with the government in November 2022.

The spike in terrorism is specially witnessed in KP and Balochistan.
