Now you can enjoy Hyderabad's famous Paradise Biryani in Kolkata too

Kolkata/IBNS: Biryani lovers in Kolkata will be delighted to note that Hyderabad's famous Paradise Restaurant has opened its outlet in their city.

Back in 1953, a small canteen and cafe functioned out of a cinema theatre called Paradise in Secunderabad (the twin city of Hyderabad).

Even after the theatre shut down, the cafe continued to run.

Between 1978 and 1996, under Ali Hemati, son of one of the co-founders, the restaurant underwent an exhaustive makeover and in 2004, the management decided to expand to other localities in Hyderabad.

“Over the years, Paradise has become an integral part of Hyderabad’s culinary culture and history as we host guests from across the world," said Ali Hemati, now Chairman, Paradise Food Court Pvt Ltd.

"We have been regularly complimented by our guests stating that a visit to Hyderabad is never complete without a meal at Paradise. This love has prompted us to expand our footprint to cities beyond Hyderabad. Over the past few years, we opened restaurants in Chennai, Bangalore, Gurugram, Vizag, Vijayawada and Guntur cities. With this new restaurant in Kolkata, we are aiming to spread the taste of our biryani to the eastern region,” he said.

The restaurant now has 47 outlets across India and the Kolkata outlet their first in the eastern region.

According to the restaurant representatives, the secret of Paradise Dum Biryani's popularity lies in its preparation, with the meat, masala and rice cooked together in three layers.

Paradise Bryani is prepared in Hyderabadi 'dum' style cooking with fine long Basmati rice, juicy and succulent meat marinated for 24 hours with 29 secret ingredients and caramelised onion, and are slow-cooked together in layers.

According to Gautam Gupta, CEO, Paradise Food Courts Pvt Ltd, “The love for biryani amongst the Kolkata citizens is evident with several eateries offering the dish. Paradise will add to it with its legendary biryanis and kebabs cooked by our experienced chefs in the state-of-the-art kitchen. Paradise offers its award-winning cuisine loved for its purity and taste, true in every mouthful to its royal origins with one biryani served in every three seconds.”

People such as Sachin Tendulkar, Aamir Khan, Sania Mirza, PV Sindhu, Gautam Gambhir, SS Rajamouli, Rajkumar Hirani and Chef Sanjeev Kapoor, have all eaten at Paradise.

So what are you waiting for?

Drop in at the Paradise Restaurant on Southern Avenue in south Kolkata and dig into their signature biryani and kebabs.
