Kerala house beef row: Kejriwal condemns Delhi Police action

New Delhi, Oct 27 (IBNS): Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday slammed the Delhi Police for carrying out a raid at the Kerala house in the national capital over a complaint that beef was being served in its canteen.
"I strongly condemn Del (Delhi) police raid on Kerala house.  I agree with Kerala CM that Kerala House is a govt est & not a pvt hotel," Kejriwal tweeted.

Condemning the police action, he said the force was behaving like BJP activist.

"Del (Delhi) police had no business to enter Kerala house. It is an attack on fed (federal) structure. Del (Delhi) police is acting like BJP Sena," the Delhi CM tweeted.

He said, "Will Del (Delhi) Police go n (and) arrest a CM from a state Bhavan in del (Delhi) if they suspect the CM to be eating something that BJP or Modiji don't like?"

The Kerala House has decided to remove buffalo meat from its menu after the Delhi Police went for a search in the state guest house following a complaint that beef was being served in its canteen.

The police said they responded immediately to the complaint to prevent any "untoward incident". The caller had claimed to be from a fringe right-wing group.

The police team remained at the Kerala House for several hours and spoke to the staff, who said that only buffalo meat is served as "beef", which is not illegal.

Cow meat is banned in the entire Delhi-NCR region.

The complaint was reportedly made by an activist of the Hindu Sena.
