Kolkata, Jan 19 (IBNS): The Bankshall Court in Kolkata on Tuesday sent Sanu and Johny, who were earlier arrested in connection with the Red Road hit and run case, to police custody till Jan 30.

Days after a 21-year-old AIF corporal was killed after being hit by a speeding Audi car during rehearsal for R-Day parade in Kolkata's Red Road (Indira Gandhi Sarani), the Anti Rowdy Squad of Kolkata Police booked two accused Sanu on Sunday night from New Delhi and Johny on Tuesday morning from Ekbalpur area in Kolkata in connection with the case.

A speeding Audi Q-7 car, which was registered in the name of a company- Mussadi Business Pvt Ltd- owned by former RJD MLA and presently TMC leader Md. Sohrab's elder son Ambia Sohrab, allegedly broke police barricades at Red Road and hit Airman Abhimanyu Gaud on Wednesday early morning. The airman, a 21-year-old Air Force drill instructor was killed in the incident.

Four days after the incident, main accused Md. Sohrab's younger son Sambia Sohrab, who was reportedly driving the killer car that day, was held from Beck Bagan area in Kolkata on Saturday night and he is in police custody till Jan 30.

Officials of Kolkata Police's detective department said that Sambia, Sanu and Johny would be interrogated separately and then jointly.

However, Md. Sohrab and Ambia Sohrab are still absconding.
