Mumbai/IBNS: Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor, along with South Indian stars Yash and Sai Pallavi, is gearing up for the release of the much-anticipated magnum opus Ramayana: Part 1.

During a recent promotional conversation, Ranbir, who portrays Lord Rama in the film, drew a comparison between Elon Musk's recently demonstrated Tesla Roadster, which has been associated with suggested flying capabilities, and the mythical Pushpaka Vimana from the Ramayana.

Reacting to a discussion about technological advancements and powerful weapons in ancient times, Ranbir said, "Elon Musk recently invented a flying car. I think India did it 5,000 years ago!"

The actor was referring to the Pushpaka Vimana, the mythical flying chariot or aerial palace associated with the Hindu epic Ramayana.

His remark came during a conversation with the host of Star Talk, who brought up the power of weapons and technological elements depicted in ancient times.

Ranbir's comment drew a parallel between the mythological flying vehicle and modern-day discussions around flying cars.
