Indian fantasy movie Tumbbad is rewriting Box Office history after the film earned a significant Box Office collection since it was re-released recently.

The movie performed much better than it original run in the Indian cinema halls in 2018.

The movie is now going to be released in the USA, media reports said.

A leading US distribution company is in talks with Sohum Shah Films over the release of the movie, reported 123 Telugu.

An official announcement of the US release is likely to be announced soon.

Film trade analyst Komal Nahta wrote on X: "Considering the massive response in India during its re-release, #Tumbbad is set to a mainstream U.S. market release. A very important US distribution house is in talks with #SohumShahFilms. There seems to be no stopping this film that is doing amazing business in its re-release."

Meanwhile, director Rahi Anil Barve recently announced he will not be a part of the sequel of the 2018 horror movie.

He wished luck to producer-actor Sohum Shah and co-director Adesh Prasad for the future sequel of the movie.

In a statement posted on his social media handles, the director said: "For decades, I have worked on this insane trilogy with many producers changing in between."

"First was the greed of patriarchy (Tumbbad). My personal and much darker version of father, son and the holy ghost," he said.

"The second deals with the dawn of feminism and holier than holy satipratha — Pahadpangira. Third, the end of this trilogy will be Pakshitirtha. That’s all I have to say for now," he said.

“I wish Sohum and Aadesh all the best for Tumbbad II. I have no doubts it will be an outstanding success. Following the completion of Gulkanda Tales and Raktabhramand by the end of this year, I plan to start production on Pahadpangira in March 2025,” he said in his statement where he also announce names of his future projects.

Sohum reacted to his post and wrote in the comment section: " Congratulations mere bhai (my brother) for Gulkanda and Raktabrahmand or jaldi Sai shuru kar de pahadpangira. Maza aayega :)."
