Indian IT services major Tech Mahindra has partnered with AI coding platform SpaceXSI to help global enterprises modernise legacy applications, accelerate software development and improve engineering productivity through artificial intelligence.

Announced on Thursday, the collaboration will combine Tech Mahindra’s engineering, enterprise transformation and AI consulting capabilities with SpaceXSI’s AI-powered development platform.

The companies aim to help businesses streamline software development, improve code quality and expand the use of AI-assisted engineering across the software lifecycle.

According to Tech Mahindra, the offering will cater to enterprise environments, enabling organisations to adopt AI-native development practices while maintaining the governance, security and compliance standards required for mission-critical applications.

The collaboration will target several sectors, including technology, telecommunications, banking and financial services, manufacturing, healthcare and retail.

Focus on enterprise AI adoption

The partnership comes as businesses increasingly look to integrate artificial intelligence into software development beyond isolated pilot projects.

Tech Mahindra said the collaboration would help organisations embed AI across engineering workflows, improve productivity and accelerate the delivery of software solutions.

“Enterprises today are moving beyond isolated AI experiments and looking to embed intelligence across the entire software development lifecycle to improve productivity, accelerate innovation and deliver better business outcomes,” said Sumit Kumar Popli, President of the Technology, Media and Entertainment (TME) business at Tech Mahindra.

“With SpaceXSI, we aim to help customers adopt AI-powered software engineering at enterprise scale while maintaining the governance, security, and quality required for mission-critical applications,” Popli added.

The companies intend to support enterprise customers seeking to modernise existing applications while adopting AI-assisted development methods within established operational and compliance frameworks.

Grok Build to support engineering transformation

As part of the collaboration, Tech Mahindra will bring its Grok Build expertise into its engineering transformation and application modernisation services.

Grok Build is an AI coding agent from SpaceXSI that is designed to support software development.

Its integration into Tech Mahindra’s services is intended to help organisations shorten development cycles, improve developer productivity and accelerate the delivery of high-quality software.

The companies will also pursue joint go-to-market initiatives, customer engagements, industry-specific solutions and enablement programmes, according to Tech Mahindra’s statement.

Through these initiatives, the partners aim to expand the adoption of AI-powered software engineering across enterprise customers and industry sectors.
