Assam reports 10 more deaths due to Covid-19, tally increases to 92,619

Guwahati/IBNS: Assam has reported 1,879 new positive cases for Covid-19 and 10 more persons died due to the deadly virus infections in the last 24 hours.

With the fresh cases, the state's tally has gone up to 92,619.

10 more persons aged between 45 and 75 years died due to the deadly virus infections, taking the state's death toll to 252.

Out of the fresh cases, 471 cases were detected in Kamrup (Metro) district, 143 cases in Dibrugarh district, 138 cases in Jorhat district, 133 cases in Cachar district.

On the other hand, the state has tested 28,670 samples for the Novel Coronavirus at 17 laboratories and screening centers in the last 24 hours and out of these 1879 samples were tested positive and the positivity rate is 6.55%.

Assam Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted, "1879 #COVID cases detected today out of 28670 tests done in last 24 hours. Positivity Rate- 6.55%. Kamrup M- 471; Dibrugarh- 143; Jorhat- 138; Cachar- 133."

73,090 patients have been discharged from different hospitals so far and the state has now 19,274 active positive cases for Covid-19.
