Assam reports 18 more deaths, 2739 new COVID-19 positive cases

Guwahati/IBNS: Assam registered 18 more COVID-19 related deaths in last 24 hours, taking the state’s death toll to 414.

According to the state health department, 18 persons aged between 14 years and 78 years died due to COVID-19 infections in the past 24 hours.

On the other hand, the state has registered 2739 fresh positive cases for the novel Coronavirus.

With the new cases the state tally has now increased to 1,35,805.

Out of the new cases, 646 cases detected in Guwahati and Kamrup (Metro) district, 259 cases in Lakhimpur district, 199 cases in Dibrugarh district, 177 cases in Jorhat district.

Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted – “2739 #COVID cases detected today out of 35369 tests done in last 24 hours. Positivity Rate- 7.74%. Kamrup M- 646, Lakhimpur- 259, Dibrugarh- 199, Jorhat- 177.”

On the other hand, 1,05,701 patients have discharged from hospitals so far and the state has now 29,687 active positive cases for the new virus.
