Covid-19: 30 more test positive in Puducherry

Puducherry/UNI: As many as 30 more persons tested positive since the last 24 hours taking the total active cases to 426 in the Union Territory.

According to the COVID 19 status released by the Puducherry Health Department on Wednesday, 25 people tested positive in the Puducherry region and five others in Mahe region.

Of the five persons tested positive for Coronavirus in Mahe region, four are staff of Mahe Government hospital and another is a police constable.

There were no new positive cases reported in Karaikal and Yanam regions of the UT during the period.

As many as 29 persons---8 from Government Medical College, 5 from Jipmer, 5 from COVID Care Centre, 10 from Karikal Government Hospital and 1 from Mahe Government Hospital were discharged during the last 24 hours.

Presently 218 persons are being treated at the Government Medical College, 111 in Jipmer, 57 in COVID Care Centre, 25 in Karaikal Government General Hospital, 8 in Mahe Government Hospital, 2 in Yanam Government Hospital and five--2 in Cuddalore government hospital and 3 in Villupuram district government hospital of Tamil Nadu as they are from Puducherry.

So far 739 persons were infected by the virus and of which 301 were treated and discharged, 12 died and 426 patients underwent treatment in hospitals.
