Covid-19 outbreak: West Bengal confirms 38 new cases, 2 more fatalities

Kolkata/IBNS: With 38 fresh cases reported in last 24 hours, the number of active Covid-19 positive cases in West Bengal touched 461, officials said on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Covid death count in the state has climbed to 20 as the state formed audit committee confirmed two more deaths directly caused by novel coronavirus, officials said.

According to a bulletin issued by West Bengal health and family welfare department, 105 patients have recovered from Covid-19 infections in the state so far and no patient was discharged from hospital in last 24 hours.

Bengal has reportedly tested 10893 samples so far with 1013 tests were conducted in last 24 hours.

Presently 205 patients are admitted under hospital isolation and 5364 persons are kept in 582 government quarantine centres across West Bengal while 21288 people are under home surveillance in the state.

Meanwhile, Union Health and Family Welfare Ministry's Sunday evening (5 pm) update showed that the total number of confirmed Covid-19 positive cases in West Bengal jumped to 611.
