Aurangabad/UNI: With as many as 68 positive cases of Covid-19, this Maharashtra district's tally rose to 8,882 on Tuesday, health officials said.

Of the fresh cases, 17 have been reported from Aurangabad Municipal Corporation area and 51 from rural parts of the district, said district administration sources.

In the wake of rising numbers of cases across the rural parts, curfew has been imposed in Sillod and Paithan towns from today onwards.

Meanwhile, Aurangabad city and surrounding areas have entered the fifth day of the lockdown on Tuesday.

Civic Health Administration has launched a drive of antigen corona tests at the check, entry points and in containment zones across the city on a war footing to identify positive cases, sources added.

So far, 5,229 patients have recovered, while 358 have lost their lives to the virus in the district.
