Malaysia adds 51 new COVID-19 cases, total at 5,742

Kuala Lumpur/Xinhua/UNI: The number of COVID-19 cases in Malaysia totaled at 5,742 after 51 new cases were recorded, the Health Ministry said on Saturday.

Health Ministry Director-General Noor Hisham Abdullah said at a press briefing that 99 more cases had been released, bringing the total cured and discharged to 3,762 in total or 65.5 percent of total infections.

There are 36 cases currently being held in intensive care and 16 of those are in need of assisted breathing.

Also the number of fatalities had risen to 98 after two more deaths were recorded, with the victims having suffered from other health problems prior to being infected.
