WHO to send missions to Tajikistan, Turkmenistan next week : Regional director

| @indiablooms | Apr 23, 2020, at 03:32 pm

Moscow/Sputnik/UNI: The World Health Organization (WHO) will send missions to Tajikistan and Turkmenistan next week, WHO Regional Director for Europe Dr. Hans Kluge said on Thursday.

"Since I last reported to you seven days ago, new cases have increased by over a quarter and deaths by a third. Countries in the east of the region — the Russian Federation, Turkey, Ukraine, Uzbekistan and Belarus — have seen increases in the rate of new cases over the past week. Last week, our teams were in Belarus and next week we will send teams to Tajikistan and Turkmenistan. Make no mistake, we remain in very turbulent water and we will do so for some time," Kluge said at a press briefing.

Both Tajikistan and Turkmenistan have not yet officially reported any COVID-19 cases.
