Patna, Aug 3 (TheBiharPost/IBNS): At least three people were thrashed by a frenzied mob in Bihar, on Thursday, for allegedly carrying beef in a truck.

The incident took place in Shahpur locality of Bhojpur district. As per local reports, the mob was led by Bajrang Dal activists.

The local media reported that the mob led by some cow vigilantes stopped a truck on the suspicion of carrying beef and assaulted  three people, including the driver.

The victims were later rescued by the police. Police have seized the truck and began an investigation.

This is the first major incident of assault on people on a charge of carrying beef soon after the change of guard in Bihar barely a week back.
