Assam: Five of a Bihu Husori team die in road accident in Biswanath

Guwahati: At least five members of a Bihu Husori team were killed and five others were injured in a road accident in Assam’s Biswanath district.

According to the reports, the Bihu Husori team, comprising of 20 members, were travelling in a Bolero Pick-up vehicle, when they met an accident at Dhokoubari Rongajan near Gohpur under Helem police station.

Five members of the team died on spot and five others injured.

The injured persons rushed to Gohpur Civil Hospital and Catholic Hospital at Borgang for treatment.

The deceased persons were identified as Budhimoti Boro, Radhika Daimary, Sanjay Basumatary, Bornali Boro and Koliman Basumatary.

The deceased persons were hailing from North Karibil and Puroni Garage areas near Gohpur.

Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma has expressed grief at the loss of lives in the tragic road accident.

“Deeply pained by the loss of 5 young lives in an unfortunate road accident at Biswanath last night,” Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said.
