Assam: Nine die of electrocution

Guwahati, Apr 11 (IBNS) : At least nine people died and eight others were injured when they electrocuted in Upper Assam Tinsukia district on Monday.

According to reports, the incident took place at Pengeri area, when local people were protesting against a murder case.

The protesters electrocuted after a bullet hit an electric line which was fired by a security personnel.

The injured persons were immediately rushed to a nearest hospital where at least nine persons succumbed to their injuries.

Top police and local administration officials have rushed to the area.

More reports are awaited.
