Bihar political crisis deepens, Tejashwi Yadav skips event attended by Nitish Kumar

Patna, July 15 (IBNS): The political crisis in Bihar deepened further on Saturday when state Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav did not attend an event where he was supposed to share the dais with Chief Minister Nitish Kumar here.

The crisis centred around the resignation of  Tejashwi Yadav since the CBI registered a case against him on corruption charges.

Despite opposition demand, the RJD as well as Lalu Prasad have ruled out the possibility of Tejashwi's resignation.

However, the development that threatens the image of the Government has put Nitish Kumar under pressure prompting his party to create a distance with the RJD.

This was evident during Saturday's function, which marked  the World Youth Skill Day when organisers initially covered the nameplate of Tejashwi but later removed it.

According to reports, the Deputy CM's name was mentioned in the invitation for the function.

The  JD-U led by Chief Minister  Nitish Kumar has asked its ally, RJD president Lalu Prasad to declare his property and their sources of income, giving a new twist to the crisis the ruling coalition is in.

“You have to declare what are your total property and their source of income,” a JD-U spokesperson said about the RJD chief  while talking to the media on Thursday.

“Sampati kahan se aaya? Source of income kahan hai, bataye (tell how did you acquire those properties? What’s the source of income)?” he asked.

“What’s your problem in giving your property details to the opposition?” asked the leader.

RJD spokesperson Manoj Jha said Lalu Prasad had already declared his property and asked the JD-U not to fall int the "trap laid by the opposition."
