BSP supremo Mayawati criticises Union Budget

| @indiablooms | Feb 01, 2022, at 08:04 pm

Lucknow: Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati on Tuesday said that issues of serious concerns like inflation and unemployment have been overlooked in the Budget.

Mayawati tweeted: "The Union Budget has been brought to woo the public with new promises while the promises and old announcements have been forgotten... Why is the Centre ignoring serious concerns like rising poverty, unemployment, inflation and farmer suicides?"

She said that with the Central government patting its back, the issues of the country were not getting resolved.

"Taxes are making the lives of people difficult. That is why it will be better if the Center concentrates its efforts on reducing tension, despair and frustration among the people, especially due to unemployment and insecurity," she said.

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the Budget in the Parliament on Tuesday.
