ED seizes Rs.5551.27 crore from Chinese tech giant Xiaomi's bank accounts

The Enforcement Directorate on Saturday said it has seized Rs.5551.27 Crore of Chinese tech major Xiaomi Technology India Pvt Ltd.

ED said it seized the money lying in the bank accounts under the provisions of Foreign Exchange Management Act, 1999 in connection with the illegal outward remittances made by the company.

Xiaomi Corporation was founded in April 2010 and listed on the Main Board of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange on July 9, 2018 (1810.HK).

Xiaomi is a consumer electronics and smart manufacturing company with smartphones and smart hardware connected by an IoT platform at its core.
