Jammu and Kashmir: One terrorist killed during Bandipora encounter

Srinagar: At least one terrorist was killed during an encounter with securty forces in Jammu and Kashmir's Bandipora district, police said on Friday.

The operation is currently underway.

Kashmir Zone Police tweeted: "#BandiporaEncounterUpdate: 01 #terrorist killed. #Operation in progress. Further details shall follow."

On May 11, a local militant, believed to have infiltrated recently was killed during a gunfight at Salinder forest area of Bandipora.

The latest gunfight broke out at Brar Argam.

A security official said based on an input regarding the presence of militants, a cordon and search operation (CASO) was launched by the joint forces at Brar Argam area of Bandipora.
