Lucknow: Union Minister of State for Home Ajay Mishra's son Ashish Mishra alias Monu, the main accused in the Lakhimpur Kheri incident, which claimed eight lives, was on Tuesday released from jail after nearly four months.

Ashish Mishra got bail from the Lucknow Bench of the Allahabad High Court last week but his release was held due to technical reasons.

Ashish Mishra was made the main accused in the violence that erupted in Tikuniya on Oct 3, killing eight people including four farmers and a journalist.

The SIT had sent Ashish Mishra to jail on Oct 10, making him the main accused.

His lawyer Awadhesh Singh told the media that Ashish Mishra has been released from jail.
