Pegasus, Indo-China border issues likely to dominate Budget session beginning today
New Delhi/IBNS: The snooping allegations against the Modi government and the pot boiling Indo-China issue are likely to dominate the Budget session of Parliament beginning on Monday.
The session is beginning days after a New York Times report emerged claiming the Indian government bought Pegasus snooping software in 2017 from Israel as a part of a $2 billion weapon deal.
The report said that "Pegasus and a missile system" were the "centrepieces" of a broader defence package.
Congress members, no less than its top leader Rahul Gandhi, have already torn apart the Centre over the fresh report in a series of tweets.
Moreover, the government is also facing heat over the abduction of a young boy, who was later released, in Arunachal Pradesh by the Chinese Army amid the already strenuous bilateral relation.
Meanwhile, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will be presenting her budget on Tuesday with barely a few days to go for the elections in five states including Uttar Pradesh, which is politically the game changer for the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
