Sheena Bora murder case: SC seeks CBI reply on Indrani's plea

New Delhi/UNI: The Supreme Court on Friday sought a detailed response from the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) after hearing a bail plea filed by Indrani Mukerjea, prime accused in the Sheena Bora murder case.

A bench headed by Justice L Nageswara Rao and comprising Justice PS Narasimha, sought the response from the probe agency.

"We seek responses from the CBI in the case. We will hear the bail application filed by the accused petitioner," the bench said.

Mukerjea in her petition has claimed that a jail inmate had told her about meeting Sheena in Kashmir.

The court has agreed to hear her and fixed the matter for further hearing in two weeks.

Former Attorney General Mukul Rohatgi, appearing for Mukerjea, submitted before the top court, "The trial has been ongoing for more than six years, and it won't get over in the next 10 years or so.

"There are many more witnesses to be examined and there is no judge in the CBI court."

The CBI, meanwhile, filed its reply before a Special CBI court on Mukerjea's plea seeking probe into her claim that Sheena Bora is alive and fixed the next date of hearing on Mar 3.
