Three persons injured in black panther attack in Assam's Mangaldoi

Guwahati/IBNS: At least three people including a forest personnel were injured after a rare black panther strayed into Mangaldoi town in Assam's Darrang district, attacking them.

The black panther virtually created terror at Karimchowk area in Mangaldoi town on Friday.

The big cat had also entered a school campus and terrorized among the poeple.

An injured forest personnel said that, when locals informed forest department that the big cat was spotted at Karimchowk area, a team of forest department rushed to the spot.

"When I climbed a wall to locate the spot where the black panther was taking shelter, the big cat attacked me," the injured forest personnel said.

The big cat also attacked two other people.

The injured persons were rushed to hospital.

A team of senior forest officials, doctors had rushed to the area to tranquilize the big cat.
