‘Putin attacked our gas infrastructure’: Zelenskyy’s big claim after Trump’s energy ceasefire

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has accused Russia of continuing to attack energy infrastructure in his country despite US President Donald Trump’s announcement of an immediate energy ceasefire.

Speaking to Fox News, Zelenskyy said Ukraine was ready to observe the ceasefire but expressed doubts over Russian President Vladimir Putin’s willingness to do the same.

“We are ready today for an energy ceasefire, as President Trump said. But I’m not sure that Putin is ready because even after yesterday’s messages from the president about an energy ceasefire, Putin attacked our gas infrastructure,” Zelenskyy said.

He added that Ukraine had refrained from targeting Russian energy facilities overnight in line with Trump’s announcement.

“We didn’t attack any energy objects on the territory of Russia because President Trump said that there will be an energy ceasefire between Ukraine and Russia. And we didn’t attack, but Russia attacked our gas stations, energy infrastructure, infrastructure and other things,” he said.

Meanwhile, in a separate post on X, Zelenskyy said a Russian drone strike had hit a residential high-rise building in Kyiv, killing two people and injuring nine others.

“Russians continue their terror against our people, striking residential buildings and taking lives. In the evening, Russia hit a high-rise in Kyiv with a ‘Shahed.’ As of now, two people are known to have been killed,” Zelenskyy wrote.

He expressed condolences to the victims’ families and said emergency responders had extinguished the fire.

“My condolences to their families and loved ones. Nine people have been injured. Rescuers have already extinguished the fire,” he added.

Earlier on Sunday, Trump announced that an energy ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine had taken effect immediately.

“Effective immediately, there is an ENERGY CEASEFIRE in the War between Russia and Ukraine. Both parties have agreed. Do not break it! Thank you for your attention to this matter. President DONALD J. TRUMP,” he wrote on Truth Social.
