Moscow/UNI: Russian President Vladimir Putin conveyed his congratulations to Indian President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the successful landing of the Indian lunar mission at the South Pole of the Moon, stated the Kremlin.

India has made history by becoming the first country to successfully land a spacecraft, the Chandrayaan-3 module, carrying a lunar rover on the South Pole of the Moon, as per the footage broadcasted by the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) earlier today.

"Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated Indian President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the successful landing of the Indian space station Chandrayaan-3 on the Moon near its south pole," the statement said.

The successful landing of the Indian space station is a big step in the exploration of outer space and demonstrates the impressive scientific and technological progress made by the country, the Russian president added.
