Alia Bhatt pens heartfelt note for late Rishi Kapoor, shares pictures on social media
Mumbai/IBNS: Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt, who was present beside the Kapoor family since the news of veteran actor Rishi Kapoor's demise broke in the morning, wrote a beautiful, heartfelt note for the Bobby star.
Bhatt, who is a rumoured girlfriend of Kapoor's actor son Ranbir Kapoor, penned a note which reads, "... for the past two years I've known him as a friend, a fellow Chinese food lover, a total cinema lover, a fighter, a leader, a beautiful storyteller, an extremely passionate tweeter, and a father!"
"In these past two years the love I have received from him is like a warm hug that I will always cherish! I thank the universe for giving me this opportunity to know him... today probably most of us can say he is like family - because that's how he made you feel! Love you! Rishi Uncle!.."
Also the actress, who had featured in Hindi films Student of the Year and Kapoor and Sons along with Kapoor, shared couple of pictures on her Instagram profile.
While in one picture, Kapoor can be seen with wife Neetu Singh Kapoor, the actor can be seen with Ranbir in the other.
Within hours of surviving the shocking news of actor Irrfan Khan's untimely death, India woke up to the news of Kapoor's demise on Thursday morning.
The Mulk actor, who was battling leukemia for some time now, was on Wednesday night admitted to a Mumbai hospital where he breathed his last at 8:45 am. He was 67.
He was cremated at Chandawadi crematorium at 4 pm here in presence of wife Neetu, Ranbir, Bhatt, other family members Kareena Kapoor Khan, Saif Ali Khan and actor Abhishek Bachchan.
Kapoor, who had stolen millions of hearts with his spirited screen presence and lover boy roles in the 1970s through the 80s, made his debut as hero in Bobby opposite Dimple Kapadia.
His romantic pairing with his wife Neetu in several films of 1970s entertained the audiences of all ages. He went on to act opposite all leading ladies of Bollywood besides sharing screen space with other heroes of his time- from the legendary Amitabh Bachchan to Vinod Khanna and many more.
One of the successful Hindi film heroes exploding on the silver screen in the 70s, he had made his debut with Bobby in 1973 as a Bollywood lover boy a few years after playing a child artist in his father Raj Kapoor's film Mera Naam Joker.
Among other successful films include Amar Akbar Anthony, Sargam, Karz, Prem Rog, Chandni, Saagar, Ajooba, Damini - Lightning.
Post 2000, Kapoor with growing age had started doing supportive roles and he caught limelight once again with his acting in films like Fanaa, Namastey London, Love Aaj Kal, Patiala House.
In 2018, Kapoor reunited with his long-time friend and co-star Amitabh Bachchan in a Hindi film titled as 102 Not Out.
Some of his last films include Taapsee Pannu starrer Mulk and The Body which featured Emraan Hashmi in the lead role.
