Mumbai/IBNS: Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan and filmmaker Karan Johar, who are close friends beyond work, will be the hosts at the IIFA Awards 2024 which will be held in Abu Dhabi later this month.

The press conference for the mega event was held in Mumbai on Tuesday.

In the course of the press meet, the camaraderie between the two celebrities was spotted with Shah Rukh Khan roasting Karan Johar.

Speaking at the event, SRK was heard saying, "Karan told me he's not going to rehearse for hosting, he will do it on Zoom."

The 58-year-old actor said Karan told him, "I will do that on Zoom. I will do it fast. I host so many events."

Roasting the filmmaker-producer, Shah Rukh tells Karan, "Brother, make films too. How many more hostings will you do? (laughs)."

The IIFA Awards 2024 will be held from September 27 to 29.

On the work front, Karan's last directorial film was Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, a superhit film which starred Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt in the lead.

Like Karan, SRK too made a comeback on big screens in 2023 with Pathaan, which went on to become a massive success. His good fortune in the box office continued with two other releases, Jawan and Dunki, the same year.
