India reached a stage where every team want to beat us: Virat Kohli
Wellington/IBNS: Exuding confidence ahead of the first Test match here, Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli on Wednesday said his team have reached a level where every other nation wants to beat them on the cricket field.
Visiting the Indian High Commission in Wellington, Kohli said, "..We have reached a stage where every team wants to beat us and New Zealand won't be any different."
"But the difference is that there won't be any spite in it and that's one reason why I can sit with Kane (Kane Williamson, New Zealand skipper) on the boundary line and have a conversation mid-game about life and not cricket," he added.
Speaking about mutual admiration in sport, the skipper said, "We just heard a few words about mutual admiration and respect between two countries, I couldn't agree more that we spoke of number two spot. If we had to share the number one spot with any other team, that will be New Zealand."

Upon visiting the High Commission, Kohli said, "Very honoured to be here, invited by the High Commissioner. We wanna thank you for that because of all the tours that we have, coming to the Indian High Commissioner is always a very special evening because we get to spend time with a lot of people from India obviously.
But we also get to meet a lot of people from the country that we are in."
India and New Zealand will play a two-match Test series which will begin on Feb 21.
Earlier the T20 series was clinched by India 5-0.
Fighting back hard, New Zealand defeated the men-in-blue in the One Day International (ODI) series by 3-0.
