New Zealand bowl out India for 345 in Kanpur; Southee takes 5 wickets, Iyer slams ton

Kanpur/IBNS: New Zealand bowled out India for 345 in the first innings of the inaugural Test here on Friday.

Shreyas Iyer slammed his debut Test hundred. He was dismissed at 105.

Iyer, who began his batting right from where he left last evening, scored the remaining 25 runs to touch 100 on the second day of first Test between India and New Zealand here.

Iyer became the 10th Indian to hit a debut Test hundred at home, sharing the list with greats like Lala Amarnath, Gundappa Viswanath, Mohammad Azharuddin, Rohit Sharma.

Shubman Gill scored 52, Ravindra Jadeja 50 and Ravichandran Ashwin 38.

Tim Southee picked five wickets conceding 68 runs for New Zealand.
