Australia revokes Novak Djokovic's visa for second time even after court verdict

Melbourne/IBNS: Australia has revoked tennis top seed Novak Djokovic's visa for the second time putting a brake on the 34-year-old sports icon's mission to clinch another Australian Open title, media reports said.

Australian Immigration Minister Alex Hawke took the decision as his government is not in favour of allowing Djokovic to stay in the country being unvaccinated.

However, the Serbian sportsman still has an option to challenge the fresh cancellation of his visa.

Djokovic was detained at the airport here last week after the Australia Border Force claimed the 34-year-old had failed to provide appropriate evidence to receive a vaccine exemption.

The detention had sparked a war of words between the two nations.

Djokovic was set free after an Australian court ruled in favour of the tennis player stating the border officials had ignored the correct procedure when he had arrived.
