On-field courtesy back, Sourav Ganguly shakes hand with Virat Kohli post DC-RCB match

New Delhi/IBNS: After a bitter rivalry between two legends of the game, Delhi Capitals Director of Cricket Sourav Ganguly shook hands with Royal Challengers Bangalore star batter Virat Kohli post an Indian Premier League (IPL) match between the two sides here on Saturday.

In a completely different picture from their last encounter, Ganguly and Kohli shook hands as the two teams greeted each other after the match.

Ganguly, an iconic former Indian skipper and an ex-BCCI president, even patted on Kohli's shoulder.

When the last time the two teams met at Bengaluru, Ganguly and Kohli were not seen shaking hands. Out of courtesy, the playing teams shake hands and greet each other after the match gets over.

Making it more ugly, Kohli unfollowed Ganguly on Instagram to only get the same treatment on the social media platform by the former BCCI chief.

The incident has triggered a fresh controversy rewinding the Ganguly-Kohli forgettable episode which broke out over India's captaincy issue.

After Kohli quit as T20 captain in late 2021, the Indian cricket board (BCCI) went on to replace him with Rohit Sharma as the skipper not only in the shortest but in all formats triggering a huge row.

Then Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) president Sourav Ganguly had claimed that he had personally requested Kohli to continue as the captain.

However in a press conference, Kohli contradicted Ganguly's statement saying he was informed about a change in ODI leadership one-and-a-half hours prior to the selection of the Test side.
