Birmingham, July 3 (IBNS): It was not only TV viewers and spectators on the ground who were touched by the love an old lady, who attended the World Cup match between India and Bangladesh, showed by supporting the national team but even Indian team skipper Virat Kohli was left amazed by her passion for the game and came down to meet her at the end of the encounter.

With tri-color painted on her cheeks, Charulata Patel, the 87-year-old Indian fan, won millions of hearts on Tuesday when she was caught on camera enjoying the game by dancing and even blowing flutes to support Virat Kohli and his men as they beat Bangladesh to reach the World Cup semi-finals.

Kohli and Rohit Sharma later met her.

Kohli described Patel as the one 'passionate & dedicated fan' he has ever seen in his playing career.

"Also would like to thank all our fans for all the love & support & especially Charulata Patel ji. She's 87 and probably one of the most passionate & dedicated fans I've ever seen. Age is just a number, passion takes you leaps & bounds. With her blessings, on to the next one," he tweeted.

Kohli also tweeted images of his meeting with Patel.

The official Twitter handle of the World Cup also shared a small video of the meeting between Kohli and Patel.
