Melbourne, Jan 24 (IBNS) : Serbian Tennis star Novak Djokovic defeated Fernando Verdasco to cruise to the fourth round of the Australian Open men's singles event here on Saturday.

The Serbian defeated his opponent  7-6 (10-8) 6-3 6-4.

The match lasted for 141 minutes.

“It was turning point probably winning the tiebreaker as close as it was,” Djokovic was quoted as saying by ausopen.com.

He said, “I thought I served very well, allowed myself to have a lot of free points in the first serve. What I could have done better I thought was just capitalising on the opportunities, breakpoint opportunities, especially in the first set."
