R Ashwin bowled brilliantly and picked up five wickets by giving away 87 runs while Harbhajan Singh, who made a comeback in the Indian side with this game, took three to finish off the task.
Litton Das, who made his debut with this Test, impressed with his batting skills as he smashed 44 off 45 balls.
In the second innings, after Virat Kohli's India forced a follow-on, Bangladesh openers Tamim Iqbal (16) and Imrul Kayes (7), battled to score 23 for no loss.
India had scored 462 for six in their first innings.
India will next face Bangladesh in a ODI series.
