England beat Afghanistan by 150 runs in World Cup with most sixes
Manchester, June 18 (IBNS): In a game that saw the most number of sixes being hit in Cricket World Cup history, England beat Afghanistan by 150 runs.
Batting first, favourites England put up a gigantic 397 on the board losing six wickets.
Skipper Morgan, the star of the show, hit a blistering 148 off 71 balls that included a record 17 over boundaries.
Bairstow and Root made 90 and 88 respectively.
Afghanistan's star spinner Rashid Khan had a particularly bad day on the field conceding 110 runs in his 10 overs. He failed to pick up a single wicket.
The only team to have not won a single match yet in this World Cup, Afghanistan never looked like they had a chance.
Shihidi was the highest scorer of the side with a 100-ball 76.
At the end of 50 overs, Afghanistan were 247 for the loss of 8 wickets.
