FIFA World Cup: Jio Cinema faces public ire over streaming issues, apologises

| @indiablooms | Nov 21, 2022, at 09:03 pm

Indian app owned by billionaire Mukesh Ambani, Jio Cinema, faced massive public ire after it failed to provide uninterrupted streaming of the inaugural FIFA World Cup match between Qatar and Ecuador on Sunday.

Countless users took to social media to slam the platform after they failed to watch the match without buffering.

Reliance Jio has made the streaming of the World Cup free in its flagship app Jio Cinema.

Jio Cinema was quick to apologise.

It had put up a tweet which reads, "We are continuously working to give you a great experience. Please upgrade your app to the latest version to enjoy #FIFAWorldCupQatar2022. Apologies for any inconvenience."

The match can also be streamed online on Voot app and live telecast can be watched on television channel Sports 18.
