Narendra Modi congratulates Saina Nehwal

New Delhi, June 12 (IBNS) Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday congratulated badminton star Saina Nehwal for winning the Australian Open Super Series Badminton title.

"Congratulations @NSaina for the stupendous victory. The entire nation is very proud of your sporting accomplishments," Modi tweeted.

Indian badminton star Saina Nehwal defeated Sun Yu of China  to clinch the Australian Open Super Series Badminton title on Sunday.

Saina defeated her opponent by 11-21, 21-14, 21-19.

The Chinese girl made a positive start by beating Saina in the first round.
