Not taking Bangladesh lightly: Rahane
He said, “This tour is important. The way they (Bangladesh) have played over the last few months they’ll be up for a fight.”
Pacer Ishant Sharma, who was also present at the event, said, “As Jinks (Ajinkya Rahane) said this is our first game of the season and we cannot take them lightly.”
When quizzed about his feelings on missing out on the recently concluded ICC Cricket World Cup, he said, “I was definitely frustrated to have missed out on the world cup. I am a human being, so it happens. But one must move on.”
When quizzed about Virat Kohli and his temperament, he said, “I have known Virat for years now (the two played in the Ranji Trophy for the same State Delhi). I was there when he lost his father, he has toughened up since.”
About taking responsibilities Ajinkya said, “I like taking responsibilities. I have learnt a lot from Dhoni Bhai (Mahendra Singh Dhoni).”
The Indian Test team wicket-keeper Wriddhiman Saha was also present and when quizzed about his processor said, “Mahi Bhai has served the nation for a very long time. To emulate his laurels right away will be an impossible job for me; however I’ll try and contribute.”
Ajinkya also said that test cricket is his priority. About his comparison with Rahul Dravid he said, “It is unfair to compare me with Dravid. I have just started playing. I have just played 14 tests but have learnt a lot from them. The goal is to keep on improving my game.”
