Pakistan end 11 ODI losing streak, beat England by 9 runs
Nottingham, Jun 3 (UNI): Pakistan recovered from the terrible show in its first World Cup match and scored a win against hosts and favourites England by 9 runs here on Monday.
Earlier, England won the toss and opted to bowl first.
Mohammad Hafeez's brilliant 84 off 62, Babar Azam's 63 off 66, skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed's 55 off 44 and Imam-ul-Haq's 44 helped Pakistan post 348 against world No. 1 England here at the ICC Cricket World Cup on Monday.
C.R. Woakes and M.M. Ali picked up three wickets each.
England could only score 334 losing nine wickets before the balls ran out.
Batting at number three, J.E. Root scored a spunky 107 off 104 balls while Buttler made a gritty 103 off 76 balls.
Pakistan's Wahab Riaz picked up three wickets while Shadab Khan and Mohammad Amir bagged two each.
