Perth, Dec 14 (IBNS): Indian bowlers fought back hard as Australia finished the first day's play at 277 runs for the loss of six wickets here on Friday.

Marcus Harris (70) and Aaron Finch (50) provided Australia with the best possible start to the innings.

However, India fought back and picked up wickets at regular intervals to make things smoothen for Indian team who are 1-0 up in the series.

Shaun Marsh (45) and

Travis Head (60) added more runs with their willows after the middle over jolts by the Indian bowlers.

Tim Paine (16*) and Cummins (11*) will resume proceedings on Saturday and will try to add some quick runs to put pressure on the Indian batting line up.

Vihari and Ishant Sharma picked up two wickets each for India.

India are playing with four pace bowlers in the match.
