Rahul misses century, India A 221/6
Rahul (96) and skipper Cheteshwar Pujara (55) added 107 runs in the second wicket partnership to stabilise the ship after India lost the early wicket of Abhinav Mukund (9).
Losing some quick wickets, India were left at a moderate score of 221 for six at the end of the day with Vijay Shankar (4*) and Amit Mishra (0*) to resume proceedings on second day of the game.
Rahul missed touching the four-figure mark against a tough opponent but displayed his skills as he scored 14 boundaries in his 185 balls.
Andrew Fekete and Steve O'Keefe took two wickets each for Australia A.
