Saina Nehwal undergoes surgery

Mumbai, Aug 20 (IBNS): Injured Indian badminton star Saina Nehwal underwent a right-knee surgery at a hospital in Mumbai on Saturday.

Posting a picture of her bandaged right leg, she tweeted with a cheerful smiley: "After the surgery ."

Saina is likely to remain off the court for upcoming few months following the surgery.

Wishing her speedy recovery, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj tweeted: "Every Indian prays for your speedy recovery. @NSaina."

Indian batting legend Sachin Tendulkar posted: "Wish you a speedy recovery from the knee surgery @NSaina . Phase of injury in a career is difficult but you have always been a fighter!"
