Dhaka, Apr 22 (IBNS); Bangladesh cricketer Shakib Al Hasan has been appointed as the skipper of the country's Twenty20 internationals side.

Shakib Al Hasan will replace cricketer Mashrafe Mortaza.

Mortaza announced retirement from the T20 format of the game recently following the series against Sri Lanka.

"Since Mashrafe has retired, the board unanimously agreed to appoint Shakib as Bangladesh's next captain for Twenty20 internationals," BCB president Nazmul Hasan was quoted as saying by The Daily Star.
