Shandong Luneng beat Mohun Bagan 6-0

Jinan, Feb 2 (IBNS): China's Shandong Luneng destroyed Indian club Mohun Bagan 6-0 in Tuesday's Preliminary Stage 2 encounter at the Jinan Olympic Centre here.

The Chinese side will now face Adelaide United in the playoffs for the Group Stage of this year’s edition of Asia’s premier club competition.

 Walter Montillo, Diego Tardelli, Zheng Zheng, and Wang Yongpo scored for the Chinese side to beat Mohun Bagan in   a contested which ended completely one-sided.

Montillo took 1-0 lead in the 22nd minute of the game. The Chinese side kept scoring goals in regular intervals in the match.

Shandong Luneng were 2-0 up after the first half of the game.

Earlier, Mohun Bagan had defeated Singapore's Tampines Rovers 3-1 in the first round qualifier.
