Mumbai, Oct 4 (IBNS): Commencing a new innings in BCCI history, Shashank Manohar has been elected as the new president of the board on Sunday.

He has been  unanimously elected the president of the BCCI.

Manohar will succeed late BCCI president Jagmohan Dalmiya who died in Kolkata last month.

Referring to 'unpleasant' things that had hit Indian cricket in recent times, Manohar promised to make it clean.

Manohar told media: "Now the duty of all members of the board to build the reputation of the board and bring back its original reputation."

"I propose to take things forward with the help of all members of the board," he said.

He said the board will take steps like educating players to prevent corruptions in cricket.
